The World Buddhist Centre (WBC),situated in the South of Delhi,is an ideal place for pilgrims
and meditation practitioners who are seeking a quiet place to stay amidst the buzzing capital of the country.

An international non-sectarian Buddhist temple, WBC was founded in 1996 under the direction of venerable Nakamura Gyomyo, a Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, who helped in the building of a Shanti Stupa in Leh,Ladakh. A Shanti Stupa is essentially a symbol of peace, unity and the Buddha’s teachings.

Along with providing the local community with a public place for quiet reflection and prayer, WBC also has a well maintained facility for people to stay and enjoy a positive experience. Some of the ether salient features of WBC include a Japanese style dining room, meditation room, spiritual consultants, and a library in English and Japanese. The resident monks and staff in the temple are from different countries, including Nepal, Japan and Canada.

The centre religiously conducts morning and evening prayers every day. As per Rev Tashi at WBC, The prayer ceremonies are an integral part of WBC, which are open for people of every religious belief. We believe in fostering unity and harmony among different religions through the daily prayers.” Talking further about the foundation of WBC, Rev Tashi said, “WBC wants peace for all. It is important to have harmony and respect between all religions, and temples should be places which should help people connect with each other.”

Stay in this visually invigorating and peaceful abode to learn more about Dhamma.
