Book review-Ten kings

Book review
Ten Kings

Ananya Shreyas
It is quite rare and gladdening to find an interesting story from the ancient Indian history. An incident from ancient Vedic text is brought to you by the celebrated author of India, Ashok K Banker.

The book revolves around a part of Rig Veda. It is a gripping story set at 3400 BC, where a tribal chief, Sudas, and his small fearless clanshield their lush and fertile land of five rivers (present day Punjab)against a huge assaulting force. The invaders, the kings fromneighbouring regions, were more than 60,000 in number, fighting against the 6,000 brave gladiators of Sudas, king of Trutsu Bharata tribe.

The battle survived a single day. It was merciless, brutal and swift and ended in a complete massacre and eradication of the invaders. The place where they fought the battle became the site of the city Harappa and the nation that was established came to be known as Bharata.

How did King Sudas and his outmatched tribe win this impossible battle? ‘Ten Kings’ reveals the secret.

The book describes an ideal way of thinking about life, nature, mankind and harmony, which became the core process of building Sudas’s character. Further, the author provides detailed strategy and a vivid description of the battle.

The readers will definitely appreciate this otherwise forgotten treasure of the Indian mythic legend.
