How is the school funded?
The school relies on donations from the
West and this support often fluctuates. To give an idea of school costs, as per
the 2015-16 Budget, the school’s recurrent costs is INR 2,255,000 or USD 33,444
(May 2016 exchange rate). This includes salaries for the principal, 15
teachers, support staff and maintenance.
Every cent of the donation goes to the
school and no one outside India receives any payment.Regardless of whether
funds are donated via the One World Childrens’ Fund, the Bodhgaya Development
Association, Christopher Titmuss or Felix Helg, 100 per cent of the donations
go to the school. All administrative or fundraising expenses, and all other expenses
are personal donations by fundraisers.
Donations for the expansion of the school
are greatly appreciated.
