Golden Jubilee Celebrations... Nalanda journal

Nalanda journal, based on Buddhism and Indian culture, was founded by Pandit Dharmadha Mahasthavir. First published in 1966, the journal was created with the aim to make it a mouthpiece of Nalanda Vidya Bhavan, an institute that was established by Dr. B. M. Barua– the first Asian D.lit from London University–at Bouddha Dharmankur Vihar in 1935.

The journal celebrated its 50th year of establishment on June 18, 2016 at University of Calcutta. A special issue, Buddhist Psychology: Empirical and Clinical, was launched during the event. It was released by Professor Bratya Basu, Honourable Minister of Information and Technology Ministry, Govt. of West Bengal.

The event was graced by prominent guests including Professor Suniti Kumar Pathak, Ex-Professor of Indo-Tibetan Studies, Visva-Bharati University, Shri G. G. Sarkar, Additional Secretary, Home Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal, Professor Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhay, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Kolkata, and Dr. Phanikant Mishra, Regional Director (Eastern Region) Archaeological Survey of India, Kolkata.
